Casa Ayni, is a non-profit that supports local people by building capacity through volunteerism in Cusco, Peru. From Gabriela's Peace Corps Peru experience, she created Casa Ayni to connect traveling volunteers time and money to local community projects in need. The White Flags
As COVID-19 unfolds, "In Peru - the country with the fifth highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases - thousands of families go days without food, travel miles looking for food and have returned to self-managing 'community pots' [of food] between neighborhoods, which had not been organized since the 1990s, when the country was suffering a serious economic crisis," says América Arias, Country Director for Action Against Hunger in Peru.
When families do not have access to food, they put up white flags outside their houses.
Gabriela is one of the community members on the ground supporting people with food during this time.
Spanish Classes
Utilizing different online platforms like Zoom, Gabriela is offering one-on-one Spanish lessons for your donation. She is able to provide you Spanish lessons that are tailored towards you, your interests, industry, goals, and learning pace. Whether you are just beginning, or looking for something specific, Gabriela will work with you.
Gabriela has worked with volunteers since 2002, first with Peace Corps Peru. As a Language and Culture Coordinator for 6 years, she developed the Spanish Syllabus to train future Peace Corps Volunteers, and trained new Language Facilitators. She also she developed several activities to help PC Trainees practice their Spanish and to adapt to Peruvian culture.
- $125 for 5 Pack Spanish lessons with Gabriela ($25 per one hour class)
-$220 for 10 Pack Spanish lessons with Gabriela ($21 per one hour class)
- $270 for 15 Pack Spanish Lessons with Gabriela ($18 per one hour class)
- $330 for 20 Pack Spanish Lessons with Gabriela ($16.50 per one hour class)

***Gabriela will contact you to plan a mutual beneficial schedule that will begin in October
****Classes are based on technology capabilities by both parties via Internet capability
Gabriela will utilize part of her earning from the Spanish classes to continue to support the communities that Casa Ayni serves.
Impact
We look at measuring all of our crowdfunding stories through the lens of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. All the local community support adds up to huge impact as we crowdfund globally to support those most in need going directly to the people that can make sustainable impact.
