<div>To defend himself against this false accusation, Carr spent his entire retirement savings - everything he had accumulated over 45 years of work. Legal fees, expert witnesses, and the cost of simply proving what the jury would ultimately confirm in barely an hour: he was not guilty.

<div>When you're falsely accused, there's no insurance policy for your legal defense. There's no mechanism to recover what you spend proving you didn't do something you never did. You either pay to defend yourself or you plead to something you didn't do. Carr chose to fight. It cost him everything.

<div>His voiceover agent, who had represented him for more than 20 years as a top 5% national talent, dropped him the day the accusation was made. His consulting clients - he specialized in executive presentation skills - terminated their contracts. His photography work dried up. And after 45 years as Artistic Director and performer at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, he was forced out.
