My name is Carmen Evans. I never thought that I would be in a medical emergency type of situation where I needed help.

I recently took a very bad fall and in the process, I fractured two ribs. I would find out within a week that it was actually four.

I tried pushing through and had gone back to work. Within a week, I found myself fighting to breathe in the back of an ambulance and fighting for my life. I've been in the hospital for over a week. I was diagnosed with AFib and heart failure and underwent a procedure to have my heart recalibrated. God is so good because He had the right people around me, my coworkers at Hobby Lobby in Griffin, GA, at the right time to help save my life.

I was able to finally come home yesterday.

I have weeks of appointments with specialists. In the process, I am on leave from work and bills are and will continue coming. I am reaching out because I know I need help at this time while I am recovering. Any generous gifts of love will be greatly appreciated.

And I want to thank the wonderful cardiac rapid response team and all of the wonderful nurses in the IMCU unit who gave me loving care while I was in their facility, WellStar Spalding County in the city of Griffin, Georgia. I can't express how much gratitude I have for them all and their care in informing my son, Patrick Harmon. Thank you and may God continue to bless us all.
