Hey family and friends. As many of you may know my dad had a tragic fall down the stairs of our apartment. He has been in the ICU since early Sunday morning. He has had surgery in his spine to hopefully regain normal feeling in his legs and arms. He has a long road (months) of physical therapy ahead of him. I humbly ask for anything you can spare to cover medical bills, physical therapy, and meet his monthly expenses. He was diligent to have medical and short term disability, but he has to meet his deductible/copays and the short term disability only pays him 60% of his earnings. UPDATE: My dad is currently out of the ICU and is in a regular hospital room. He is off the feeding tube and able to eat food with assistance. He still doesn’t have movement in his legs and has minimal movement of his arms. He is just days away from going to inpatient rehab, where he will be for about a month. Thank you as always for your thoughts and prayers!
UPDATE 3/27/25: My dad has been in the hospital for the past week treating a high fever, sepsis, and low blood levels. He is doing much better and should be home within the next few days. We unfortunately are heading into the issue where our bills are catching up and funds are quickly running low. We are eagerly waiting for his Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid applications to get approved to help us out more and get my dad the better care that he needs. UPDATE 6/5/2025:
My dad is out of the hospital and in a nursing facility now. My dad’s ulcer is healing well and he is starting to eat more and gain more weight. Getting consistent therapy is still a struggle but we are staying hopeful and positive. We are still trying to keep up with bills in the midst of everything and my dad not getting much income. My dad’s spirits stay high considering the circumstances. He is so grateful for everyone who has supported him through this journey.
