From Carlos: "We got hit hard, life has become a journey for the essentials. I luckily didn't lose my house, but we are in pretty bad shape. I am only asking for any type of donation to manage for the foreseeable future. My mom also lost her school where she teaches so we are both living together and pulling all our resources. Her future is also uncertain, we need to make major repairs."
On September 20, 2017, Hurricane Maria, a powerful category 5 hurricane, made landfall on Puerto Rico and the results were catastrophic. Today, there's still no electricity for the majority of the population on the island. There's no real supply of fresh water to drink, bathe, flush toilets. The 3.4 million American citizens living in PR have been directly affected and they're not receiving aid as they should be.
Donations and How You're Helping Carlos
With Carlos's employment uncertain, your donations will help to pay for rent, food, bills, medication (daily treatment for fibromyalgia), and other essentials. We're hoping to raise enough to cover at least 3 months' worth of regular expenses, plus a little extra for incidentals which will likely come up as Carlos and Puerto Rico rebuild.

From Carlos: "I am native Puerto Rican, lived here all my life. I love game art and I work every day to become a great environment artist. It's been 6 years since I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Fibro makes everything harder and take longer that it should, but I try my best so that doesn't stop me from accomplishing my goals. I depend on daily medication a lot to be functional but this has shown to be more outgoing and appreciate life to its fullest.
