I rescued Cake back in 2017. She was the sweetest kitty ive ever met. When her first brought her home she was super shy as expected but the next day she followed me every where and would not leave me side. she responded to her name immediately. I wanted her to be an indoor cat only (my previous family cat Tiny died in a cat gang fight). but my brothers kept letting Cake outside when I wasn’t home. so eventually she became indoor outdoor. Cake would always do this thing where when she was super relaxed she would drool. it would only be like a drop and i thought that was just her thing. some cats like to suck on blankets when theyre relaxed so i assumed it was just something like that. So years pass by and she’s still a happy healthy cat until she’s around 5 years old. My brother and his wife who lived with us adopted two adorable kittens. and adorable yes but they brought in fleas. it was so bad. Cake got fleas and her gums got worse. her body had been good at regulated her gums and keeping from getting worse but when she got fleas it just stopped. she struggled to eat her dry food and would paw at her mouth. i took her to the vet and they said my only options were to get her teeth pulled or put her down. i felt like those were two very extreme options. i got her wet food and pro biotics and she was still eating steak and chicken and all the human food she loved. still using the bathroom and drinking water so she was still okay. i had to move away for half a year and i couldnt bring her with me and that’s when it started to get really bad. she wasn’t getting as much love attention with me gone and she got skinny and barely ate. i moved back and she started to gain weight again she was doing so much better. but this year its just gotten so bad. she has stopped eating anything. she cant chew chicken anymore, she struggles to even lick her broth anymore. water is painful to her now and she’s been vomiting. when she stands she wobbles like she’s about to faint. i think with IV fluids and teeth surgery that she can be brought back but i am a broke college student and i have a part time job where i take care of my disabled sister. and it’s money but it’s not a lot. So if anyone can spare anything to help Cake eat chicken again please help her. she is the sweetest cat and has a huge heart. ive never met any cat as sweet and sassy as her and she has so much life left. please help
