Burl & Rebekah Thompson were full term with their second baby. Rebekah went into labor and they headed to the hospital, but once there, the baby’s heart beat couldn’t be found. Rebekah continued on with natural labor, and their beautiful baby girl was born late Friday night, the 26th. She weighed 7 pounds, 3.7 ounces and they named her Nelliel Marie. Nelliel means “God’s Nellie”. In Burl’s words, “We had been hoping to have another girl, and we had two sets of names for a girl, once we saw her we knew this would be the most beautiful name for her.” During the time they had been hoping and expecting to finally meet their second baby, instead they had to fully relinquish their care of her and believe that “the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
