- First of all, I can't believe I am doing this. It kills me to ask for charity and Bunk is 100 percent against this. I'm not sure everyone knows exactly what happened to Bunk, so here goes. He had emergency spinal stenosis surgery on 6/5/25. His spine and nerves were pretty badly damaged. He spent 1 week in the hospital and then went to Encompass for 3 weeks of inpatient physical therapy. Unfortunately, that didn't go as they hoped, so he was moved to The Willows nursing home in Parkersburg for more physical therapy. He was pretty much total care for the 1st 6 weeks after surgery. Finally, at 8 weeks, he took his first steps (3 of them). He has made great improvements, and he came home last Tuesday. He isn't able to work any longer, and he received his last paycheck from his job of 35 years. We are pretty much tapped out after 3 months of me driving to Pburg almost daily for 3 months. His insurance paid for a wheelchair (after a $300 copay). Unfortunately, it is too heavy for me to lift, and we would like to get him a bariatric transport chair that is lighter so I can put it in the car and be able to take him places. Anything would be appreciated. I understand money is tight for everyone, so if you can't donate, please keep us in your prayers.
