<div>On August 26, Steve fell while assisting a friend with a construction project. The fall caused severe misalignment and fractures in his upper spine, requiring emergency surgery.

<div>Steve is currently recovering in the ICU and faces a long road of rehabilitation. His family remains hopeful that, with time and rehabilitation, he will regain the ability to walk and return to a high quality of life.

<div>As Steve begins this long recovery, his wife, Christy, will need significant in-home assistance to help care for him and manage the demands of his recovery. The cost of this care has been quoted at approximately $12,000–$15,000 per month, creating a substantial financial burden for the family on top of the many other unexpected expenses they are facing.
