Support Brooke: Preserve Her Godmother's Car

Hi all! My name is Brooke, and unfortunately, it has come to a point where I feel setting up a GoFundMe is my last resort.

My vehicle got towed yesterday, 04/23. It’s currently at Henry’s Wrecker Towing location in Gaithersburg, MD. It was originally $170 to get it out yesterday, but each day is $35 extra.

I recently got laid off from my job, and I asked all of my close friends and family members, but they are unable to help due to the fact they are also financially struggling.

I’ve had my car parked at my apartment this whole time with a permit. According to the person I spoke with from the office, my permit was invalid for this month! They failed to communicate that with me, which led to the towing of my car. This has left me in a stressful situation, especially when the car is very sentimental to me!

This is a 2006 Ford Escape that has been passed down to me from my Godmother when she passed away back in 2019. I have so many memories of being in the car with her as a child, so the car is very dear to me. I brought my firstborn daughter home in that very same car. My sister adores that car so much; the car means a lot to her as well! I hope to restore the car one day and plan to pass it down to my daughter and keep it in the family.

I am not asking for much. I need $240 in order to get the car out tomorrow. I put down $300 in asking donations in case I am unable to meet my goal tomorrow. As mentioned, they charge $35 extra per day! :( If I am unable to recover the vehicle by the 30th, they will send the car to the junkyard to be wrecked. I want to avoid that from happening!
