At 45, my amazing sister-in-law Brooke Lavery has been unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer. As many of you know, Brooke and her husband Shaun are parents to 2 wonderful young kids, Shepard (9, 3rd grade), and Benjamin (6, Kindergarten). Brooke is a pediatric nurse at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, but will have to take several months off from work following her December 4th surgery. We are hoping to fill in the gaps of her lost paychecks to help support their family with living expenses through this time, especially as they get through the holidays.
