hello my name is brian and i am asking for help from my community. i was wrongfully arrested after buying a used car and driving it back home. under my car insurance policy i was protected and had coverage to drive the vehicle home..but the officer did not know (or care) and arrested me on the spot. This was on a Saturday and I explained the circumstances showed him the proper paperwork that I just bought it he had my vehicle impounded ,towed he handcuffed me arrested me and took me in for Prints and mugshots when they got done with me they asked if I had a ride home I said no it did not matter I waited 3 hours for someone to come and get me . I have had no prior runnings with the law and have no record of any sorts.. this was in Gaylord and I live in topinabee am asking for help with these towing and gas fees since i am a disabled person with a fixed income. $600 may not seem like a lot but it was devastating for me when i bring so little each month. the police are not reimbursing me for the wronged arrest so it is up to me to live and figure out these costs. thank you for considering sometimes we have to reach out and ask for help but it will not go unnoticed... My car insurance company confirmed that he had no right to arrest me and that I was covered the ticket I received was for no insurance
