My name is Susan Guthrie Hilton and I am raising funds to help my best friend, Candi Grantham, her husband Brent, and their family. On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Brent was riding his Harley motorcycle down 55 South just outside of Hernando, Mississippi. Brent came upon traffic that slowed because of a wreck that had happened on the opposite side of the highway. Traffic had slowed all of a sudden, and he realized this too late to be able to slow down to the flow of traffic. As allowed in Mississippi, Brent moved over to ride in between the lanes so as to not wreck. Unfortunately, a truck saw him coming between the lanes, and that driver decided to do a lane change. When he did, Brent clipped his truck with the Harley. Brent was thrown from his Harley and went up under a semi-truck. God had his hands on Brent during this time because had the truck’s trailer been any lower, Brent would have lost his life. We are praising God that Brent survived this wreck. Brent has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Brent’s injuries are: a broken right elbow, multiple spots of road rash throughout his body, as well as a badly broken right leg. Brent has had one surgery to repair his right tibia bone under the knee and down the leg. The surgeon also had to do a fasciotomy to reduce the pressure on the leg so he can heal properly. We are still waiting to hear if he will need further surgery to close up the leg. He will need skin grafts eventually on that leg. He needs specialized supplies for his physical therapy that he will need to have full use of that leg. Candi is a nurse and will need to be home in order to care for Brent. Brent cannot put any weight on his right leg for at least a month. Candi is the one who works to support their family. Brent has been home for the last four years caring for Candi’s parents, who also live with them. Brent was looking for work before his accident.

Due to the type of nurse that Candi is, she has no medical insurance or paid time off. I am asking for financial blessings to help the Grantham family through this long road to recovery. Those who know Candi and Brent know that they would do anything possible to help others in their situation. Candi has been my best friend for almost 34 years. When I say she and Brent would help anyone in their situation, I say that because I know without a doubt that they would. Please help the Grantham family through this time of Brent’s healing.
