<div>Dear friends, families and members of the community, my name is Mariah Cathcart, I am the granddaughter to Brenda Hiter and I’m coming to you with a heavy heart to ask for help for my grandmother. She is not only my grandma, she is a mother, a sister, an Altadena Native and friend to many. My grandmother built a life and raised multiple generations in her beloved home - a home that recently celebrated its 100th birthday this year.

<div>Sadly her home was destroyed in the recent devastating Eaton Canyon fires that swept through our community rapidly. For her, this was so much than a home, but a cornerstone of her life, a place where we gathered and shared so many memories and laughs.

<div>This isn’t about restoring a home but giving back to a woman who has done so much for those who she loves. I ask that we all come together and assist my grandmother in anyway to help her process her new normal.
