<div>My name is Bree, and this is my son, Skyler. He is autistic and experiences the world in his own unique way. He’s kind, curious, and capable, but social situations can be difficult for him. After being bullied at school, Skyler stopped talking to people. I made the decision to leave Los Angeles and move to Orange County so he could have a better school and a fresh start. Living on our own in Orange County has been very expensive, and I wanted to find a way to support us while also helping Skyler heal and grow. That’s how BreeSky’s Quesadillas started. I made Skyler my cashier to help him learn how to socialize again and just be himself. It’s not easy for him, but he shows up every day and tries. With each customer, he’s learning how to communicate, connect, and rebuild his confidence. Autism makes things different for him, but it doesn’t stop him. We travel from Orange County to Los Angeles, Koreatown, to sell on 3rd and Vermont. Right now, we have to rent a U-Haul each time we go, which adds up quickly and makes things harder. We’re hoping to get a van so we can travel more easily, attend more events, and continue creating these opportunities for Skyler. Our goal is to one day have a small restaurant where Skyler can continue to learn, work, and be part of something that’s truly his.
