My name is Joe Avalos. My husband, Richard (Jerry) Ramos, and I were fortunate to have had a little boy, Brantley Smith, in our lives since 2012, when he was just over 3 months old. Because we were his primary caregivers for most of his first 3 years, we created a bond with him that has continued into his current age of 13 years old. Recently, we found out that he is currently living in a group home in Augusta, Georgia, because his Mother has lost custody of him. We'd like to bring him out of the group home and start guardianship procedures and help give him more stability in his 13-year old life.

To get his legal case started, we are initially requesting $3000.00, to help us with the retainer. As we go further into the process, we may request more help. We've been a part of this young man's life for almost his whole life, and it saddens us that he is in this situation that he had no part in causing.

Of course, we will be providing updates as we start this journey to bring Brantley back to where he belongs, and has always wanted to be....back in Texas, living with his Uncle Joe and Uncle Jerry, happily ever after.❤️
