Support our Library, help us buy more books!

Beschermde donatie

Please help us grow our library catalogue! The enrolments at Bardia Public School are growing so fast, we need to keep the shelves stocked with enough new material for all the students! To celebrate Book Week in Lockdown, we are aiming to raise $3000 to buy new books for the children to return out of lockdown and enjoy.

The students at Bardia Public School LOVE their library; it is a paradise of adventure and knowledge, led by the wonderful Mrs Wyber, who has been the Teacher Librarian at the school for more than a decade.

During lockdown, Mrs Wyber and the library team engage with the children each week to keep the library visits alive. They are working very hard to ignite the passion of reading in children. Imagine if they had a delivery of new books to explore when the children return to school?!

The students will appreciate anything you can give! $10 will buy a new adventure for the library. $50 could buy an entire series like Bad Guys, Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Rainbow Talent. Imagine what $100 could do?

Books are the foundation of every learning experience for children. Mrs Wyber very wisely advises all parents that reading starts with a love of books and when children enjoy the books they read.

As we all know, books are a moderate cost on their own but to stock a library it is expensive!

Bardia Public School (formerly known as Ingleburn North Public School) has been a proud, close-knit community of parents and friends for 50 years, and have seen the small enrolment of students reach high levels of academic and personal achievement for many years.

In 2019, after a $35 million rebuild by the NSW Department of Education, Bardia Public School officially opened the new school grounds with an enrolment capacity of 1000 students.

The school is now enrolling approximately 7 new students a week, with increasing by 700 students in 2 short years. The school will reach full capacity by the end of the 2021 school year.

Despite the new state-of-the-art facilities, the school's biggest challenge is to keep up with resourcing the new enrolments to provide the best possible learning experience for all students.
