Story

Hi, we are Tom and Karen Fleischmann. Our oldest son, Bob, had a massive stroke in June of 2024. His neurologist said he has never seen anyone survive such a massive stroke. Bob lost the use of his left side. He's only 49 years old. Bob is an 8th Grade Science teacher at Belvidere Central Middle School in Belvidere Illinois where he lives. He has been teaching for over 22 years. Bob is also a professional DJ [Reflex DJ Service] and producer of Laser Light Shows. He is known as "Laser Bob" around Belvidere and the greater Rockford, IL area. Teaching is his passion, being a DJ is fun. Bob is planning to be released from the rehab center this spring. Many handicap accessibility issues need to be met in his home such as a ramp for access into the house, widening some doors and making his bathroom wheelchair accessible with a shower/sink/toilet remodel for bathing and toileting. All this will cost approximately $25,000. Insurance will not cover these repairs.
