Support the Blackjewel Miners' Blockade
On July 1st, 2019 the coal company Blackjewel declared bankruptcy. Miners were told to stop working in the middle of their shift. Their last paychecks bounced and their insurance policies were cut off.
Since July 29th miners have been blocking a Blackjewel coal train on the tracks in Cumberland, KY in protest. The coal on the train they are blocking is worth over $1 million. They still have not been paid what they are owed. Miners and their families are thousands of dollars in the hole, with no relief in sight, as their kids are heading back to school. Miners, their families, and supporters have been living on the train tracks in the summer heat for three weeks.
All donations to this GoFundMe go directly to the miners blockade in Cumberland, KY to support camp life (food, gear, water, supplies) and miners' families (school supplies & clothes, power bills, prescription medications, etc.).
