Support BHASVIC's Greenpower racing team

To promote engineering to our A level students, BHASVIC (Brighton, Hove & Sussex Sixth Form College) offers the chance to build and race electric cars, organised nationally by Greenpower Education Trust , a UK-based charity. There is huge enthusiasm to participate in our Greenpower after-college club.  It is a highly valued activity and several students have gone on to study engineering as a result of their involvement with the project. We raise our own funds to purchase parts and materials and then travel to and from events but it requires sustained funding and time to maintain it.

 

 

 

We started Greenpower in 2017  with the aim of building one car from scratch. With scrap materials, a lot of volunteer time and a minimal budget, we managed to complete the car and then race at Dunsfold Park . Two years later, we raced at Silverstone, and now we are looking forward to the 2022 International final at Goodwood Motor Circuit. We now have two cars, providing more opportunities for many students we are as enthusiastic as ever to develop our project to highlight the importance of design, creativity and teamwork.

 

 

 

Our Plan

 

To enable our students to continue their involvement with Greenpower, we are looking to fundraise £3000.

 

With these funds we will be able to widen the scope of the project to include more electronics, microprocessor control, 3D CAD and 3D printing. We will also be able to buy essential components, materials, motors and batteries to build a new car.
