Support Bev's Recovery From Emergency Surgery

Hi, my name is Erika and I am Bev Serafica’s friend. I am raising funds to support Bev’s recovery from emergency laminectomy surgery.
On Christmas Eve Bev was out riding her bike to help her stay in shape for her passion sport of running agility with her dogs, Jedi and Pixie. She started to experience severe back pain, numbness in her legs and loss of other functions. By Christmas morning all of her symptoms became worse and she drove herself to the ER. Just one short year before, at the age of 36, Bev drove herself to that same ER after suffering a brain aneurysm and needed immediate emergency surgery to save her life. On Christmas Day, Bev found herself in the same situation of needing immediate emergency surgery to save her - to save her from becoming paralyzed from the waist down.
Bev underwent an emergency laminectomy (spinal surgery) on December 27th. She will have a long road to recovery again and will not be able to work for at least 3 months, and will not be able to return to her favorite activities for another 6 to 12 months. Bev is not supposed to sit or drive during her months of recovery. She is a classically trained pianist and makes her living by giving piano lessons. She will not be able to work, or practice, during these months of painful rehabilitation and physical therapy. Bev has gone through so much in the last year, an aneurysm during one of the peaks of the pandemic, and now a laminectomy (during another peak in the pandemic). She has used her savings, plus donor support, to pay for the time she went through her aneurysm. Bev lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, is self-employed and will be especially hard hit again during this period of not working.
Bev is determined to push through once again, and your help will allow her to focus once more on healing rather than her financial situation. The pandemic has affected all of us, and it may be difficult for many of us to contribute, but every bit helps. A heartfelt thank you for your consideration, your generosity is greatly appreciated.
