My name is Kat Tucker, I am a 29-year-old veterinary nurse. My life consists of healing the animals of this world. Several months ago I decided to take in a kitten who was skinny annd had patches of fur missing…. he needed help. I fixed him and made him into the handsome boy he is today. I have finally reached a point where I am unable to fix him on my own. Berry is my seven month old kitten, who was just diagnosed with FIP. FIP stands for feline infectious peritonitis. This disease, without treatment, is 100% fatal. Feline infectious peritonitis is caused by a coronavirus. This disease is progressive, can cause neurological symptoms, fluid to accumulate in the abdomen and lungs, and much more. A few years ago, this would have been a death sentence for my sweet boy. New advances in medical technology have now made it possible for this disease to be treated with upwards to 90% effectiveness. This treatment is expensive, consists of a rigorous treatment schedule, and can have side effects. But… I want to give him a chance. He’s a fighter and I know he can do this… I need your help. Anything you can donate will help. Thank you.
