Benjamin Melendez Sr. was more than just a neighbor to Shaheed—he was a cherished friend and a pillar of the community. After a courageous battle with congestive heart failure and multiple organ failure, Benjamin passed away on July 23, 2026, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. His health struggles forced him into retirement, ending a lifetime of dedication to Hamilton Car Wash. For Benjamin, the car wash was not just a job; it was a part of his identity. He knew every machine and every corner by heart, and his unwavering commitment meant he rarely missed a day, no matter the weather. Through rain, snow, and heat, Benjamin’s work ethic and quiet strength inspired everyone around him, leaving a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
