They were both quickly detained and soon moved to a detention facility in Louisiana. Jose has recently been released, but Alejandro, who had called the United States home since he was a little boy, has been deported.

Wife and mother Norma has been left behind to care for the remaining five children, ranging in age from 2 to 16 years, as Jose has not yet been able to secure a new job since his release. As a family, the children enjoyed visiting the park with their parents and cooking together.
