<div>Hello, you know me as Dia, and I live in Australia. My mother, who lives in another country, is in need of life-saving surgery to battle Chronic Kidney Disease.

<div>We are reaching out to the community for support to help fund the complex and expensive process of finding a kidney donor, undergoing a transplant surgery abroad, and covering the necessary recovery period of 6-8 weeks post-surgery.

<div>In late 2023, my mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease, with kidney function at 21%. This came as a shock, as she has always led a healthy lifestyle with a focus on well-being and self-care.

<div>Unfortunately, as of late August 2024, her kidney function has deteriorated to 10%, marking Stage 5 CKD, or End Stage Renal Disease. Despite efforts to reverse her declining health over the past year, we are now urgently seeking a kidney donor and arranging for major surgery in another country where it is both affordable and feasible.

<div>This situation is challenging, as my mother is not eligible for medical assistance in my country, and her home country does not offer a kidney transplant program. This forces us to look abroad for this critical procedure.

<div>My mother has shown incredible strength in facing life’s challenges, including surviving breast cancer and maintaining a full-time business. Her resilience and positivity have left a lasting impression on everyone she meets, both professionally and personally.
</div>

<div>We are hoping that, during this time of urgent need, the community will come together to help support her through this major medical journey.
</div>

<div>The cost of the transplant alone is expected to be around $75,000 USD. This estimate includes the cost of the surgery, transportation, and accommodation during her recovery period abroad, which will last at least four weeks.
</div>

<div>In addition to the surgery, there will be ongoing expenses for my mother’s post-operative recovery, including medications that she will need to take for the rest of her life, as well as covering the costs of her daily life and pets back home.
</div>

</div>
<div>I will be travelling to be with my mother during this time, taking unpaid leave from work to assist her during the surgery and recovery.
</div>

</div>
<div>Any funds raised beyond the surgery costs will be used to cover these additional recovery and living expenses. Below is a breakdown of the expected costs:
