<div>On February 26th, we found out the devastating news that Avery had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

<div>The diagnosis was sudden, unexpected, and a complete shock to all of us. Avery is 6 years old and currently being treated at Boston Children's Hospital where, to no one's surprise, she has made fast friends with the entire staff in the Oncology wing. When she was initially told she had cancer, Avery's response was simply "Okay, that's fine." The strength and positive attitude shown the past week from Avery, her brother Greyson, and her Mom's Erin and Krystyna, has left us all in awe.

<div>Avery's journey to beat cancer will not be easy. She is currently undergoing multiple types of chemotherapy in Boston where she'll have an extended stay in the hospital. After she is sent home, many more rounds of chemo and treatment will be needed through the outpatient clinic at Boston Children's Hospital. There are many unknowns from there and a lot will depend on Avery's response to the initial treatment but eventual preventative measures will be needed to ensure the cancer is eradicated and never returns. Doctor's estimate the entire process could take 2 years.

<div>Contributions to this fund will go towards alleviating some of the costs Erin and Krystyna face moving forward from a wide range of medical bills, time out of work, travel back and forth from the hospital, and additional childcare. The financial burden surrounding this horrible illness is vast and many of the costs are unforeseen until you're living it. Any amount you are able to give, whether financial or through prayer and well wishes, is incredibly appreciated by Avery and her team.

<div>Avery is 6 years old and brings so much life to any room she is in. Her energy and spirit is unmatched, as is the love she has for her little brother Greyson. She loves school, her friends, and playing any type of sport she can find, especially gymnastics, basketball, and soccer. Words cant describe how truly beloved she is by so many people.
</div>

<div>Finally, anyone who has been around Avery for 10 minutes can tell you how competitive she is with, well, just about everything. Want to play a game of memory with Avery? Be prepared to lose and hear about it. Her two favorite words are "I won." Needless to say, she'll have the perfect attitude as she courageously fights and battles Leukemia. Years from now we can already see her telling everyone how her greatest win was the one she had over cancer. The ultimate victory for the fiercest (and world's cutest) competitor.
