<div>Avalon is een oase van biodiversiteit, middenin de Randstad. Met wel 140 heilzame boom- en plantsoorten in de zorgkassen en de siertuin is het een feest om er te zijn. Dagelijks komen er kinderen, scholen, volwassenen en vrijwilligers om te leren over gewassen, om in contact te komen met de natuur en met zichzelf. Om zich te herinneren wie ze zijn, even los van alles.

<div>Het is ook een plek die zomaar kan verdwijnen. Het terrein staat namelijk te koop. Maar aan wie wordt het verkocht? De kans bestaat dat het naar een investeerder gaat die de boel platgooit en de aarde omspit en uitput. Veel liever kopen we deze Aarde als gemeenschap stap voor stap vrij van eigenaarschap, zodat niemand haar ooit nog kan ‘hebben’. Voor onze kinderen, voor onze toekomst. Zo kunnen de vruchten ervan nog generaties geplukt worden. Help je mee?

<div><strong>Wie zijn wij? </strong>
</div>
<div>Wij zijn de hoeders van dit land: zes vrouwen die dit project met hart en ziel draaien. Dat doen we vanuit intuïtie en gelijkwaardigheid. Ieder van ons is hier gekomen via een eigen 'roep' en met specifieke talenten en ervaring. We zijn helers, landbouwers, moeders, ondernemers, kunstenaars. We maken glorieuze glijers en zijn bereid naar onszelf te kijken. Elkaar te spiegelen en op schaduwen te schijnen. We zorgen voor elkaar en voor deze plek. Dat maakt ons elke dag weer trots en dankbaar voor het land dat ons draagt. Een plek waar licht en donker elkaar omarmen.

<div><strong>Avalon Earth Keepers</strong>

<div>Iedereen die bijdraagt aan onze missie is één van ons: de Avalon Earth Keepers. Dus als je doneert, welk bedrag dan ook, nodigen we je vanaf dat moment uit voor het Avalon Earth-Keepers programma. Dat betekent in elk geval 3 keer per jaar een viering. Denk aan workshops, oogstfeesten, lezingen, diners, deeldagen, thema-dagen... Verder is er elke zondag om 11 uur een viering waar iedereen van harte welkom is, om te verbinden en te delen.

<div><strong>Welke waarde voegen we toe aan deze Aarde? </strong>

<div>Als je ons helpt om de Avalon grond vrij te kopen, kunnen we verder met alle mooie projecten op dit land, die dienstbaar zijn aan het grotere geheel. En dat levert op jaarbasis een hoop op, kijk maar:

<div>- Zo'n <strong>500 mensen</strong> per jaar leren over het <strong>biologisch dynamisch kweken van gewassen</strong> (kinderen, vrijwilligers, cursisten, gemeenteprojecten).

<div>- Er zijn ongeveer<strong> 150 vrijwilligers</strong> actief op het land

<div>- We hebben zeker <strong>40 vieringen</strong> per jaar, vrij te bezoeken door eenieder die warmte en verbinding zoekt. Daarmee bereiken we naar schatting <strong>500 tot 1000 bezoekers.</strong>

<div>We can all feel it: the way we are treating the Earth is no longer an option. But how can we, individually, make a difference to that big picture? By simply getting in there and doing it: together.

<div>Avalon is an oasis of biodiversity, hidden amongst the big cities of the West of the Netherlands. Its gardens and greenhouses boast over 140 different medicinal tree and plant species and the grounds are a pure delight to spend time in. On a daily basis, Avalon is visited by children, schools, adults and volunteers who want to learn about growing food and medicines, to spend time with nature and reconnect with themselves. To be reminded of who they are - away from the rest of the world.

<div>It is also a place that is about to be sold. A decision that will be made before the 1st of October. But to whom? There is a significant chance that the grounds will go to an investor who will flatten it in order to exploit and exhaust the land.

<div>We would much rather buy this piece of Earth free of ownership, as a community, so that no one can ever ‘own’ it again. For the children, for the future. That way this piece of land can continue to nurture many generations to come.

<div><strong>Who are we?</strong>
</div>
<div>We are the current keepers of this land: six women who keep the project running with heart and soul. We do so on a basis of intuition and equality.

<div>Each of us was ‘called’ to this place through a different route, each offering our own set of skills and experience. We are healers, farmers, mothers, entrepreneurs, artists. We screw up royally on occasion and are willing to reflect ruthlessly where needed, mirroring one another and shining light onto shadows. We look after each other, and these grounds. That continues to make us both proud and grateful for the land that bears us - for this place where light and darkness embrace one another.

</div>
<div>Everyone who contributes to our mission is one of us: the Avalon Earth Keepers. So if you donate, no matter how big or small the amount, we invite you to be part of the Avalon Earth-Keepers programme. This includes at least three celebrations per year. Celebrations can take on the form of workshops, harvest feasts, lectures, dinners, sharing days, theme days…
