<div>My good friend Austin Kunau has been in a long, painful battle with Lyme Disease for years. This disease takes a toll on his body in ways that are hard to comprehend. Lyme is a complex chronic illness that affects every patient differently.

</div>

<div>Austin believes that he has had Lyme since he was a child, after years of fatigue and strange unexplainable ailments he went looking for answers. That is when he was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease 8 years ago.  When this illness is left untreated for years it leads to neurological problems like nerve pain, brain fog, and muscle tremors. Heart problems that lead to lightheadedness, irregular heartbeat, and feeling faint. Not only does this disease make normal life hard to enjoy it is also taxing on you financially.

<div>Lyme disease is not covered by insurance which makes these treatments, specialist, and tests extremely expensive. One visit can range from $300-$1,400 while the medications and treatments can cost thousands.

<div>Austin has recently been diagnosed with Chronic Pericarditis which is a swelling of the lining surrounding your heart. He is unable to work and is seeking help from a new specialist down in Costa Mesa . I have personally watched him hop from specialist to specialist looking for the right treatment and he doesn't give up hope.

</div>

<div>Chronic Lyme can not be cured but with the right treatment it can be put into remission. Austin just wants his life back. He wants to feel well enough to live a life that is not being controlled by this illness.

</div>

<div>Austin is hoping to get IV antibiotics and hyperbaric oxygen treatment. These are wildly expensive. 

</div>
