“Support Aunt Valerie Duhaney’s Final Journey”
Introduction
Our beloved Aunt Valerie Duhaney has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, a devastating brain cancer. Her health has substantially diminished. We are cherishing these final months with her while also facing overwhelming costs for medical care, funeral, and burial.
Valerie’s Story
Aunt Valerie is more than just our aunt — she is the heart of our family. The only aunt on my mother’s side, she grew up close to us, living just down the street. She is a proud wife to our Uncle Kenneth (“Uncle Chappy”), a devoted sister to my mom, Edna Tucker, and the most loving auntie to me (Keisha) and my sisters, Taisha and Kiki.
Faith has always been Valerie’s foundation. She loved going to church every week and often prepared food for her fellow church members. Her giving spirit extended far beyond the Saturday services — she was always cooking for family, friends, and neighbors. To this day, no one can match her Thanksgiving stuffing or her famous cornbread.
But what we will remember most is her joy. Valerie is a performer at heart, entertaining us with her hilarious impersonations and accents. She could always make us laugh, no matter the circumstance. Her humor, warmth, and generosity have touched countless lives.
️ Current Situation
In recent months, Valerie’s health has declined significantly. She is no longer able to walk or speak much, and our family is making the best of every moment we have with her.
