These beautiful children are at risk of losing their home and education..
ASPIRE Training and Education has been a beacon of hope for homeless, orphaned, and impoverished children in Cambodia for the past 10 years. Many parents in Cambodia cannot afford to care for their children, let alone provide them with an education. With your help, ASPIRE aims to support hundreds of children and give them a brighter future.
At its peak, ASPIRE provided shelter, food, and 24-hour supervision for 20 children and free education to over 100 more. However, since COVID-19, they have lost much of their sponsorship and are running out of funds, putting their property—and the children’s future—at risk.
The founder, Sean, is deeply committed to changing lives. He grew up in severe poverty, with his family earning only $5–$10 a day. Determined to improve their circumstances, he worked 12–13 hour days and, at 20, put himself through an English course. This opened opportunities for him, including a job at an NGO, where he worked in exchange for food and accommodation. Inspired by his struggles, Sean developed a passion for helping children like him and decided to open ASPIRE.
His journey started with a single donation, and he built the first structure himself using bamboo. Over time, with more contributions, he expanded and eventually purchased the current plot of land in 2008. Initially an orphanage, Sean later transformed it into a school to provide English education and create future job opportunities for these children. He also invited volunteers through platforms like Workaway and Worldpackers, creating a family-like community of children, staff, and supporters.
Sadly, since COVID-19, the lack of volunteers has resulted in fewer donations. Sean is now struggling to house, feed, and care for the 20 children who live there. These kids deserve a home, an education, and a future filled with opportunity.
Even the smallest donation can make a world of difference to this organization and these incredible children.
