Story:

On June 28, 2026, a charter fishing boat sank in the waters near Steveston, Richmond, BC. Ten people were aboard. Four were rescued. Six others, including Ashley Lin's son, are presumed drowned after an extensive multi-day search and rescue operation was suspended and shifted to recovery.

Ashley is a single mother raising her 14-year-old daughter. Her son was one of the family's main sources of income, and his sudden loss has left them facing not only unimaginable grief, but also serious financial uncertainty during a time when they need to focus on healing, not survival.

This fund has been set up by a close family friend to help Ashley and her daughter with immediate and ongoing needs, including funeral costs, daily living expenses, and the stability they need to move forward as a family of two.

Ashley and her daughter are surrounded by community support, but they cannot do this alone. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward helping them through this incredibly difficult chapter.
