I am excited to share that I have been presented with a unique and meaningful opportunity to participate in a study abroad program in Guatemala through a nonprofit organization called VIDA. This program allows pre-veterinary students to engage in hands-on clinical work, including spay/neuter procedures and wellness check-ups for animals in underserved communities. It’s an incredible way to gain valuable veterinary experience, learn from professionals in the field, and give back to families who cannot afford veterinary care for their pets. This experience aligns closely with my academic and career goals, as I aspire to attend veterinary school and ultimately serve communities in need through animal care. In addition to the professional development, it’s a chance to immerse myself in a new culture and deepen my understanding of global veterinary medicine. However, as a full-time student managing tuition and housing expenses, funding this opportunity presents a financial challenge. I am currently seeking support through this GoFundMe to help cover the cost of the program and flight expenses, which will allow me to fully participate in this experience.
