For my 30th birthday this month, I’m fundraising to send aid to my Myanmar/Burma community and will match every dollar 3x up to $3,000. Whether you can manage $5 or $50, your contributions will go directly toward critical rescue and medical aid efforts on the ground.

My people have been tirelessly fighting a murderous military junta since the February 2021 coup and are now devastated by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake. The destruction is unfathomable and the death toll of 3,000+ will climb. Yet, the military continues to commit crimes against humanity rather than aid their own civilians, and exploits this tragedy for international legitimacy.

In Burmese culture, it’s custom to make charitable donations or "ahlu" (အလှူ) on our birthdays. It’s my biggest birthday wish to be able to celebrate the resilience we can build together in these uncertain times. At the end of the month, I’ll send our funds to 2-3 grassroots/mutual aid groups on the ground and report back to all donors.
