<div>In 2022, I had five bleeding ulcers and nearly lost my life. I was diagnosed with iron deficient anemia, as well as an unknown bleeding disorder. While my doctors were trying to figure out treatment, in December of 2023, I received another devastating diagnosis: breast cancer.

<div>The chemotherapy that followed that saved my life, triggered rare bleeding issues that in turn caused us to find out I have Factor XIII deficiency with a less than one percent clotting factor. It is a bleeding disorder that I have most likely had all my life, and while once mild now has become severe due to both the chemotherapy and getting older. And is worsening quickly.

<div>My body no longer clots properly, and even small internal bleeds can become critical. The treatments I’ve received so far have worsened my stomach issues to the point where I can barely eat. My current doctor is doing his best, but he doesn't have the expertise to treat this very rare condition.

<div><em>That’s why I need to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, </em>and I must be there by<strong><em> October 20th.</em></strong> It’s one of the few places in the country with specialists who understand Factor XIII hemophilia and can help me find a treatment plan that stops the bleeding and gives me a chance at recovery.

<div>This trip is not optional, it’s essential. But I can’t do it alone.
