“Good day relatives I greet you with a warm, heart felt handshake, my name is Ohiyesawin win and my grandparents are Angie and Percy White Plume. I wanted to share a few words about my unci and gaka”.
If you know them, then you already know what I’m going to say—but it cannot be said enough. No English words can truly articulate the love I have for them, but I can try to explain it to the best of my abilities. I have always idolized my grandparents. Their stories of perseverance, and the values they’ve shown me has shaped my character in ways I can never fully express. Their endless generosity has never gone unnoticed, and I feel so deeply grateful and blessed that the Creator guided me to both of them. There is absolutely nothing they wouldn’t do for any of us—and continue to do—for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
As some of you may know—or may be just learning—after countless trials, tribulations, hard work, and powerful prayers, my grandparents will soon be moving into their new home. A special thank you to an incredible crew who showed up with dedication, and boundless energy, the house is now nearly complete.
However, since they are no longer working, their funds are limited. That’s why I’m reaching out to our extended family and friends—to ask for your support in helping us gather the essentials they need to truly settle into their new space. As a family, we’re doing everything we can to make this transition as smooth, joyful, and love-filled as possible. Because if anyone deserves to be wrapped in comfort in this next chapter, it’s them. They have spent their entire lives putting others first—making sure everyone around them felt safe, supported, and loved. Now, it’s time to give that back.
If you feel called to help in any way—whether through donations, resources, or simply sharing this message—we would be deeply grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read, and for holding them in your hearts the way they’ve held so many of us in theirs.
