Hello everyone, this is my dog Angel. I got her when I was 13 and I am now a 20-year-old college student. Up until this past December, Angel has been a very healthy and active dog.
Suddenly, when I was away, she came down with a sudden neurological sickness. This rendered her unable to move in a matter of days. It started with a limp, then progressed to her being “wobbly,” to not using her back legs, and finally full body paralysis. I had to carry her outside and hold her up so she could use the bathroom; it was a lot mentally. This went on until her medicine kicked in about 5-7 days later. She was better, and then it came back recently. The vet has recommended she go see a neurologist and maybe get an MRI. An MRI can run anywhere from $2,000-$4,000 prior to starting any kind of treatment.
Being a college student, it’s hard to come out of pocket to get her treatment. I have since brought Angel with me to school so I can ensure she gets proper treatment. I am asking for any financial help for my dog, or even advice to make her more comfortable.
