<div>As some of you may know, my brother, Andres Albaladejo, has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. ALS is a debilitating and devastating diagnosis. It's a cruel condition that robs a person of their vitality, strength, and mobility.
</div>

</div>
<div>My brother is well-known and loved by many. His friends would tell you that he always made time to show up for them. Not only is he an amazing friend, but he's also a great son, brother, father, and husband. As long as I've known him, he's never failed to show up for others in times of need. His kindness, humor, and positivity have touched countless people as is evidenced by the incredible outpouring of love during this difficult time.

<div>Andres was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT. He attended Bullard-Havens Technical High school where he met his high-school sweetheart Carmen, to whom he's married to today.
</div>

</div>
<div>He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree at The University of Bridgeport (UB). During his time at UB, he was a talented catcher for the UB Knights Baseball team. He had the privilege of being Captain of the Varsity team during the 2007-2008 season.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After years as a social worker in Connecticut, Andres moved to Florida with his wife and his young daughter Sofia. Andres went on to become a police officer and continued to serve his community there. Unfortunately, the rapid progression of this disease has caused his inability to work and live a normal life.
</div>

</div>
<div>As we face this unimaginable challenge, we are reaching out to our community for support. Our goal is to raise money to help support them during this difficult time. The money donated will be used not just for short-term procedures and financial burdens, but also help to address the long-term needs as they come up. We are hoping to use the first 25,000$ to pay for a promising stem cell procedure that Andres was approved for. The remaining funds would help towards modifying their home to be handicap accessible, home care, and other out of pocket costs.
