Hi, my name is Jennifer White, and I’m an Instructional Coach at Chowan Middle School in rural North Carolina. I'm raising funds to support one of our incredible international teachers, Mrs. Rhazel Mengullo, who is facing a difficult and emotional situation.

Mrs. Mengullo is from the Philippines and has been an invaluable part of our school community. She is kind, hardworking, and always has a smile on her face. Her positivity and dedication to her students never go unnoticed. Despite being far from home, she brings warmth and joy to our school every single day.

Recently, Rhazel’s daughter back in the Philippines has required extensive medical care and is in need of surgery. As a mother, Rhazel has been sending as much financial support as she can to help cover the medical expenses, even while on a modest teacher’s salary here in the U.S. Like any loving parent, she also planned to travel home this summer to be with her daughter during this difficult time.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances related, she is now unable to travel at this time. Even more heartbreaking, the $2,000 plane ticket she purchased is nonrefundable, and she is unable to recoup those funds.

This unexpected financial loss has added another layer of stress to an already overwhelming situation. We are asking for support to help Rhazel recover the cost of her ticket so she can continue focusing on what matters most—her family’s well-being and her work with our students.
