<div>Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer in late September.  She found a lump and called her doctor right away.  One week later, they did a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy in one day. What they suspected was true...there were two masses both malignant. Surgery will be scheduled by the end of October. She will have a bilateral mastectomy given the family history of cancer.  Chemotherapy seemed unlikely at first, but we will know more after surgery.  The reconstruction will start right away and will be complete by October 2025, we hope.

She has been the primary caregiver for her mom and dad, as her mother has advanced Parkinson’s. The average care giver (not associated with an agency) in Fort Collins is $32/hour and live-in caregiver is $46 per hour. The total for one year of full-time in home care is $66,500. It would be wonderful if we could raise $75,000 to cover the cost of care for her parents so that Amy can focus on her recovery and healing.
