<div>I adopted Amelia in May 2023 from Le Cat Cafe in Philadelphia. She had some health problems but I attributed it to the shelter environment. About a year later she started getting frequent infections. It wasn’t until a few months ago that she started sneezing blood and having trouble breathing. She was referred to a specialist and a CT scan showed cancer. I have already spent $6,000 on various treatments. Unfortunately, pet insurance has denied her claim. I didn’t know pet insurance existed until a year ago, so I got a policy at that time and the company is saying her cancer is pre-existing. I never expected to spend this much money at one time.
