Turajii Shakoor-Bey-needs educational, financial assistance for Amatuallah Bint-Bey.

My name is Amatuallah Bint-Bey I am 16 years old and live in San Antonio, Texas.

Recently, Columbia University in New York City, teen program, has named me “Teen Scholar” for my academic achievements and awarded me the opportunity to participate in a workshop to advance my aspirations of becoming a pediatrician.

I am diagnosed with type one diabetes at the of eight years old, I have been hospitalized several times for my illness, and as a result, I am inspired to become a pediatrician doctor.

Throughout my challenges, I have maintained good grades, and volunteered at several medical offices and given opportunities to shadow doctors to get an overview of patient and doctor interactions

In accepting the teen's scholar award, I will participate in many workshops that will potentially lead to a summer immersive program to get a headstart on core college skills and even take courses in the physical sciences

Please, help me to achieve my goal.

I am so very proud of Amatuallah; she is an excellent inspiration to me and our youth. She has achieved much in such a short time

* Amatullah is an advocate for JDRF Diabetes walk (juvenile diabetes research foundation) and an Ambassador.

* Winner for City Wide talent competition.

*Prepared and served food to the homeless.

* On the Student Council.

* Volunteers at hospitals and clinics.

* Initiated an Anti-Bullying Program.

*Participated in APPNA WALK
(Association of Physicians of Pakistani descent).

These are just a few of her achievements.

Because of her father’s horrific accident of falling 20 ft of a roof, which caused him to become partially paralyzed he has NOT been able to work, and we are financially strained,

We are asking for YOUR help to allow Amatullah to accept this educational opportunity as we are in need of hotel & travel expenses of getting to and from Columbia University.
