Support Alzheimers Carers: Help Us Fund Community Retreats

We’re Grace and Maleena, the filmmakers behind PAPA, a captivating documentary that delves into the deep bond between a father and daughter navigating the complexities of Alzheimer’s disease.
Through the powerful story of Grace, a holistic nutritionist, and her father, we explore themes of forgiveness, healing, and the transformative impact of a holistic approach to care.
About the Film - PAPA
In PAPA, we witness Grace’s journey as she “love kidnaps” her father from a nursing home, embarking on a path of reconciliation and holistic care. The film highlights the challenges of elder care while showcasing how love, resilience, and a healthy lifestyle can reshape the experience of Alzheimer’s. More than just a story of illness, PAPA is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of holistic healing, offering insights into how we, as a society, can better support those living with dementia.
As filmmakers, this story resonates deeply. Inspired not only by Grace’s journey but also by my personal experience watching my family care for my grandfather, we are passionate about shining a light on the strength, love, and quiet determination of unpaid carers everywhere.
Why We’re Fundraising
Caregiving is often an unrecognised and overwhelming role, particularly for unpaid carers. We believe that no carer should have to walk this path alone. That's why we’re launching The Carers Circle in 2025 – an online community designed to offer emotional support, practical advice, and a space for carers to connect.
To help make this possible, we are raising funds to host four online mini-retreats for unpaid carers, particularly those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia. These retreats will provide carers with much-needed moments of rest, reflection, and community support, empowering them to continue their essential role with renewed strength.
Your generous support will help us:
- Host four online mini-retreats, free of charge, for unpaid carers.
- Create a nurturing and supportive online space where carers can connect and share their experiences.
- Continue documenting the important stories of carers to raise awareness and drive societal change around elder care and brain health.
- Every donation, no matter how small, helps us move closer to our goal of creating a supportive community for carers and ensuring that they are never alone in their journey.

Together, We Can Support and Uplift Carers!
Caregiving is an act of love, but it can also be emotionally and physically exhausting. With your help, we can provide a space for carers to rest, reflect, and find the support they need to continue their vital work. Please consider donating today to support unpaid carers and help us launch The Carers Circle.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us and for supporting carers who give so much, often without recognition.
