She was the passenger in a serious car accident that has changed her life forever. She broke her neck and was rushed to surgery for her spinal cord. She was intubated for a little over a week but was having difficulty with that so they gave her another surgery for a tracheotomy to help her breathe. She is currently on breathing support but is fully aware and can mouth conversations but cannot speak. She is in the neurological critical care unit in Rhode Island hospital with no date when she will be moved out. She will be there for a while and then moved to a rehab center for physical therapy to continue her recovery until she can go home. This is going to be a long road to recovery. She is the brightest person you will ever meet and not even this situation can bring her down. She doesn’t deserve this, she is the strongest person I know and will get through this!
