Hi, my name is Natty and my dog’s name is Allie. I rescued Allie in 2019 when she was a puppy from Miami Animal Rescue. She was about 3 months old when I met her at her foster parent’s front yard and I instantly fell in-love and adopted her the same day. Her timid gentle charisma stole my entire heart and she’s been my best friend ever since. She has helped me so much through out all of these years and has been my loyal companion since the very beginning. However, it pains me to share that recently Allie has been suffering from horrible knee pains that have caused her to start limping to the point of dragging her right back leg on a daily basis. She has trouble when she goes up the stairs, its evident that it hurts her as she tries to take each step, her back knees make a clacking sounds and it sounds as her knee is coming out of place. Sometimes she just waits on the bottom step to see if we can help her up (which ofcourse we do). When I heard the clacking noise, I immediately made a phone call to make an appointment to the vet to get some X-rays done, unfortunately, the results show that her ligaments are torn on both of her back legs and has caused some osteoarthritis. I was able to get an appointment with a specialist that same week and the surgeon concluded that the best route to take is to complete a knee surgery on both of her back legs, starting with the right one (due to the right knee being in worst conditions than the left.) I was left in complete shock when the price of the surgery was shared but if the surgery isn’t done, there will be a probability that she will not be able to walk as she gets older. My family and I have been doing our best trying to take the outmost care of her, even carrying her up the stairs so she is not in pain or worsening her legs but this will not be sufficient with her condition or the quality of life that she deserves. I would love to give her the best life possible while I can so the surgery is something I would love to provide to her. The cost for each leg comes out to $5,600 with a very trusted surgeon with the latest technology. His success rate is off the charts. Asking for help is not my strongest pursuit but for Allie, I will. I truly appreciate any help that is given to Alliekins. The funds raised will go directly to her surgery and recovery, this way she can start her recovery asap to eventually walk and play pain free. Thank you for taking the time to read this - Allie and I are eternally grateful.
