I have a lifelong best friend who is in need!
A friend that in all 42 years I’ve known him has never once asked for anything. In fact, this person always puts others before himself.
This is my best friend Mark Grossman and his beautiful wife Alison. The Grossman’s have been married for 25 years and they share two beautiful children, Taylor and Matthew. Taylor is a freshman at the University of Hartford; and Matthew is a Junior at Canton High School.
Fifteen years ago, Alison was diagnosed with Polycystic Liver Disease. About six years ago, Alison's disease began to get progressively worse. There was only one solution: Alison needed a transplant.
In late February, Alison moved to Minnesota to await a liver transplant. On March 28th Alison received the telephone call of a lifetime. There was a liver, and her surgery was to be performed that same day.
The Grossman's were hoping to be home in four weeks time. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned.
Alison and Mark have been in Minnesota for 36 days and, due to unfortunate complications, will likely remain in Minnesota for an additional 3 weeks at least.
If you've had the honor, and pleasure, of knowing the Grossman's then you know they would never ask for help.
When Alison and Mark received that life-saving phone call, Mark went to Minnesota to be there with Alison; and he has remained there ever since. Unfortunately, that left their one income household with zero income. Mark will not be able to return to work until Alison is healthy enough to come home.
Once Alison recovers and the Grossman's are finally able to return home, Alison will still need to follow up at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. This will likely need to be done for years to come. This means more travel and more expenses.
Alison and Mark always do for others before themselves. Please let’s do everything we can to help good, kind, and caring people in their time of need.
Let's make this time for the Grossman's a little less worrisome. Whether $1, $10, or $100 dollars- every little bit counts as they spend more time away from home to navigate this trying time.
