Hi, my name is Joquel, and I’m reaching out as a mother who deeply believes in the power of education and in the dreams of our only daughter, Alisiyah.
Alisiyah is a bright, compassionate, and determined 20yr old student entering her third year at the University of Memphis, majoring in Computer Science with a focus in Artificial Intelligence and a gpa of 3.17. Since childhood, she’s been gifted. She graduated high school with honors, completing AP and IB courses, and earning invitations to elite academic programs. She’s worked hard to get where she is, and she dreams of using her knowledge to build innovative tech that helps people.
But we’ve hit a devastating financial roadblock.
Due to my health and being a disabled dialysis patient, our family faces significant financial hardship. While we were initially approved for a Parent PLUS loan to cover her tuition, that was later denied. The university replaced it with limited unsubsidized loans, but it wasn’t enough. This leaves us with an outstanding balance of over $4,000, which must be paid.
We’ve explored every option: financial aid, appeals, scholarships, and loans, but we’re running out of time and options. I receive a fixed disability income that covers only the basics: utilities, food, medication, and transportation. There’s simply no room for this unexpected cost.
If we can’t pay this balance, Alisiyah won’t be able to attend this year and continue her education. It would be a heartbreaking setback for someone so deserving and driven.
We’re humbly asking for your support. Every donation no matter how small will go directly toward Alisiyah’s tuition and fees for the upcoming semester. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign. Your kindness could be the reason she stays on track toward her dream career.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading and supporting. Your help means more than you know.
With gratitude,
Alisiyah, Joquel & Ronata
