<div>Nuestro querido amigo Alfonso Muñoz Alma, un destacado artista plástico puertorriqueño graduado del Instituto de Arte de Chicago, ha sido diagnosticado con cáncer pélvico, afectando su riñón y otros órganos. Como consecuencia, ha perdido la movilidad y no puede caminar, lo que le impide trabajar y cubrir sus gastos médicos.

<div>A lo largo de su carrera, Alfonso ha utilizado el arte como una herramienta de expresión y cambio social, abordando temas como los derechos de la mujer, la comunidad queer, la crisis ambiental y diversas desigualdades. Su talento y compromiso lo llevaron a ser seleccionado en 2005 para la S Files Biennial en el Museo del Barrio en Nueva York, donde compartió espacio con renombrados artistas como Allora &amp; Calzadilla y Bubu Negrón, en una exposición elogiada por el New York Times. Ha recibido becas prestigiosas, como el New York Urban Artist Fellowship (2008) y ha participado en programas internacionales de intercambio cultural.

<div>Hoy, Alfonso enfrenta su mayor desafío. Un grupo de amigos hemos decidido crear este fondo de ayuda, cuyo 100% de los donativos irá directamente a su cuenta bancaria, para cubrir sus gastos básicos, tratamiento y cuidados durante un año.

<div>Our dear friend Alfonso Muñoz Alma, a renowned Puerto Rican visual artist and graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, has been diagnosed with pelvic cancer, affecting his kidney and other organs. As a result, he has lost mobility and cannot walk, preventing him from working and covering his medical expenses.

<div>Throughout his career, Alfonso has used art as a powerful tool for social change, addressing issues such as women’s rights, the queer community, environmental crises, and social inequalities. His talent and dedication earned him a place in the 2005 S Files Biennial at Museo del Barrio in New York, where he exhibited alongside acclaimed artists like Allora &amp; Calzadilla and Bubu Negrón in a show praised by The New York Times. He was also awarded the New York Urban Artist Fellowship (2008) and participated in prestigious cultural exchange programs.
