<div>Hello, my name is Aleyxa, I’m 24 years old, mommy to a loving 3 year old and I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is an autoimmune disease in which your immune system attacks your central nervous system, consisting of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerve, causing lesions which can lead to a significant amount of symptoms and disability. I was diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting MS in June of 2022 but have had a rapid decline in mobility since January of 2024. I started with a limp in October, needed a walker by January, and became wheelchair bound by the end of February. I have weakness, muscle tension and a significant amount of pain along my right side that has not had any improvement even with the high amount of medication that I’ve received and continue to take. My Medicaid insurance has played a big role in this process, making it nearly impossible to receive proper care, due to the constant denial of care from my insurance company. Considering the amount of doors that have continued to close, I have felt the need to take my health into my own hands and look into other options. While doing my research, I was lucky to find and take into consideration a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT).

<div><strong>HSCT is an established non-radiation chemotherapy medical treatment demonstrated to be effective to halt the progression in neurologic autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis.</strong> The aim of HSCT is to “reboot” the immune system, to stop it from attacking itself. There is a clinic in Puebla, Mexico (HSCT Mexico Clínica Ruiz) in which positive results have been achieved in over 80% of patients transplanted at Clínica Ruiz. Meaning that there’s at least an 80% chance to stop my illness and get my mobility back. The cost of this HSCT treatment is exactly $57,500 which is an amount that I can’t afford on my own. The administration team at Clínica Ruiz mentioned that only 10% of their patients pay their treatment out of pocket because they are wealthy and the other 90% are able to pay for their treatment because they raised funds through donations.

<div><strong>I have already gone through with all of the necessary steps to be approved for this treatment and I was blessed to hear that I am a great candidate for HSCT.</strong> My goal is to raise $65,000 to be able to pay for the HSCT treatment and also cover any cost associated with this medical trip including a medical nurse to care for me for the 28 day visit stay. This treatment could change my entire story, any help will be greatly appreciated.
