Support Alan's Winter Bee Survival

Hi my name is Alan and I am raising funds to save my honey bees from dying over the winter. There is currently a very cool invention called the hive heater invented and tested by a Utah beekeeper that will keep the girls warm and dry over our long winters.

My goal as a small beekeeper is to keep the bees healthy and to survive the winter not just barely, but with a robust colony ready to pollinate the plants and trees that are part of our healthy environment.

I want to outfit 4-6 colonies with a hive heater, which uses passive solar with just two days of sunshine a month to keep the gals warm and dry. I have struggled with losses due to winter losses and the hive heater offers an environmentally sustainable way to solve the problem. We need pollinators and we need to help the bees and I want to do my part to ensure their health well being giving them a chance to survive until spring.
