<div>There are remarkable times in life when the tides turn. An unexpected turning of the tide occurred on Dec. 26th 2024 in the life of two of our caregiving community members, Sabina Cox and Alani Nixon, when Alani went to Stanford hospital for a CT scan with severe difficulty breathing. The scan revealed metastasized breast cancer, requiring a three-week stay at Stanford Hospital. With impeccable team care, a treatment plan was honed, including oxygen 24/7, a pleurx catheter, chemotherapy and other genetically fine-tuned treatments.

<div>Gratefully, Alani is now back home, giving her all to healing with the full time care of her life partner of over 30 years, Sabina. They feel so held by a wide community of love, co-creating a powerful container where Miracles are born.

<div>Many of you may know Sabina as an extended member of the Portola Valley community, by virtue of her over 20 years of nurturing, caring for and supporting the raising of your beautiful children. She has shepherded the blossoming of newborns into burgeoning young adults, composed and sung lullabies for them, inspired their love for the earth and all her beings, including each other and served as a loyal extension of family love. In truth, Sabina has been in service to the heart of the community through the lives of families, creating harmony and beauty.

<div>Some may know Sabina as spiritual counselor, healing facilitator and meditation guide, sharing nature transmissions with her team of five luminous horses, known as the Herd of Light. She has cultivated a spiritual counseling practice and for over 8 years has hosted weekly global zoom meditations, known as Animal and Nature Assisted Awakening Gatherings, which take place in the presence of the Herd whose calm, healing nature palpably shines through.

<div>Sabina has been the primary financial provider for Alani, the herd, and their homestead while Alani has mostly stayed behind the scenes due to chronic health issues, supporting Sabina's well being on every level and caretaking the herd, and the homestead. Alani was also teaching online subtle energy classes and offering spiritual counseling to many on their life journey. She is now writing a book describing her experiences of over 50 years of working with and teaching meditation, the evolution of consciousness, and exploring ways of becoming attuned to subtle energy and our inherent ways of knowing, that allow us to move into deeper levels of attention and perception of who we are and who we can become. This phase of the journey is perhaps the most revelatory chapter.
